Principal’s Message

Welcome to Athol Elementary—Home of the Eagles!

Thank you for taking time to explore our website. I hope it gives you
a glimpse of who we are and what we are about. The real picture,
however, comes from visiting our school and seeing first hand the
warm, positive atmosphere we have worked hard to develop. You
will notice brightly covered walls boasting colorful murals, student
work proudly displayed, volunteers working with students and happy
kids working in classrooms.

If you are looking at moving into our attendance zone and would like
a tour of our school please don’t hesitate to come by. You may also
call ahead to set up an appointment (208-683-2231) and I would be
glad to give you a tour.

Best Regards,
Mrs. Kathy Thomas
Principal

EAGLE HERO CLUB

Eagle Hero.PNG

Athol Elementary honors students who follow the guidelines for success
(found in the behavior matrix). Students may receive a yellow “Hero Slip”
from any member of the staff. The slip identifies what the student did to
be recognized for being safe, responsible, and/or respectful.
The student then turns the slip into the office. At the end of the day, all
students receiving hero slips are announced over the intercom. They come
to the office and draw a number, then write their name on the Hero Club
Bingo board in the corresponding number.
When student’s names fill a row in the chart, those students will receive a
mystery reward. When the chart is full, the process will start all over again.

Drops in a Bucket

drops.PNG

Each classroom has a “bucket” which holds blue dots. Students may earn blue dots from any staff member for making safe, responsible, and
respectful choices. When the classroom bucket fills up, students in that classroom earn an award (to be determined by the students and teacher).
Classrooms can fill up many buckets throughout the school year. Each time a classroom fills a bucket a giant blue dot goes in the big bucket for the whole school. A school-wide reward can be earned when the giant bucket is filled with classroom dots.
